Shelbyville Games Cancelled...

The JV/Varsity double-header has been cancelled...too much RAIN!!!!

No practice today...enjoy the weekend off.

Varsity will practice 3-6pm Monday and 3-6pm Tuesday.

We play the winner of A-L vs Arcola on Wednesday. If we win that game...we play Saturday @ 1pm in Assumption for the Regional Championship.

Picture day for JV and Varsity will be Monday...wear your BLACK uniforms to practice. We will be having pictures done the first part of practice. Bring your picture envelopes if you want to buy a picture. JV players will be turning in their uniforms after practice on that day...so make sure you bring ALL your jerseys...white...green...and black.

We will now honor our seniors at our end of the year banquette.

Storm Stops Shelbyville!!!!

Rain and storms have cancelled today's re-make with Shelbyville.

The game will be made up as a Varsity/JV double header Saturday. Varsity beginning @ 1pm with a JV game to follow.

We will honor our seniors in between the games of that double header.

***Varsity will have a practice 2:50pm-4:15pm after school.

Shelbyville Wednesday...Senior Night Wednesday!!!!!

Shelbyville contest is rescheduled for Wednesday afternoon at 4:30pm.

Senior Night recognition will take place following the game.

We hope to see all the great fans we've had this year show up to honor the class of 2009. They are a special group of young men who deserve your applause and handshakes. They have added to my life journey and made me a better man and coach. I am proud to say I coached them.

Single Game with W-L Saturday!!!!

Friday: Varsity practice 6:30-7:30 pm...maybe a little later ending time.

Saturday: Varsity and JV pictures @ 12:30...players need to be there by 12:15 with green uniforms on ready to go.

W-L Varsity game will take place @ 2:30pm on Saturday.

We will have Senior Night Saturday after the game. It will be a brief ceremony and then everyone will be free to go. Parents will have to be ready to go out on the field and stand with their player.

We have no rescheduled date for Shelbyville...it in all likelihood will be next Wednesday, or Saturday.

NOOOOOO JV or Varsity games Saturday!!!! Instead Team Pictures!!!!!!

Tri-City had to cancel baseball games with Meridian for a make up game in their conference.

Team pictures will be taken @ 9am and a practice for JV and Varsity will follow. Practice will run roughly 9am intil 11 am.

All players should wear uniforms to practice and then we will change for batting practice.

Monday...St.T VS Meridian Varsity/JV Double Header

Meridan will host a Varsity/JV double header against St.T Monday. The varsity conference game will be first @ 4:30 to be followed by a St.T vs Meridian JV contest.

Varsity players should be dressed and ready to go by 2:55pm and JV players need to be ready to go by 5:15pm for their contest.

No way to play @ Meridian and tooooooo wet @ St. T.

We are going to play St. T. Monday, May 4th...if we can play @ Meridian we will try. Be prepared to move it to St. T. We will play a 5 inning JV game after the varsity game.

We will drop Edinburg to fit conference game in.

***Varsity practice 10am-11:30am indoors. Players may wear shorts indoors...bring pants...if we can hit flyballs outside Saturday we will.

JV will be off Saturday.

A-O Re-make Rained Out!!!!!!

A-O called to cancel the game today. Rain hit them hard. We will work to reschedule the game at a later date.

Varsity OFF to tend to prom items...please do so tonight...Saturday will be game time in the morning.

JV and Varsity have a 9:30am bus for St.T games tomorrow varsity to play @ 11am...JV will follow that contest.

JV will practice today after school until 4:30pm

Shelbyville and Meridian are STILL to wet to play.

All games cancelled.

JV and varsity practice cancelled.

The varsity will be practicing from 3-7pm over in Springfield tommorrow. We will be practicing @ the indoor facility over there. Players can where t-shirts and shorts...they will also need $$$ to eat out.

Hendo Makes PBR Porsche Players of the Week 2009!!!!!

Andrew Hendrian has put together a great season for the Meridian Hawks and now the world has begun to recognize his feats!!!!
Andrew is batting .429 with a .566 on base %. He has slugged 5 home runs and has played solid defense in the field during the 2009 season. Andrew has knocked in 31 "rib-eyes" and scored 32 runs himself.
Prep Baseball Report gave Andrew Hendrian Porsche Player of the Week status for a week where he produced 4 home runs, 2 triples, 3 doubles and 16 RBI's with 13 runs scored. He did this over one the most productive 5 games spans in recent school history.
Wow...why stop now...there is more out there to accomplish!!!!!!! GO HAWKS!!!!!

The Varsity Hawks will play Monticello Wednesday @ Monticello...4:30pm. Rain was too heavy and too much!

JV off today...and Varsity will practice as follows:

Rest of squad: 7-8:30pm

Calvary Cancelled!!!!

The game with Springfield Calvary has been cancelled due to rain.

Varsity will practice 2:30 to 4pm in the small and large gyms.

Pitchers/catcher will practice in the large gym...all other players will hit in the small gym and then be dismissed around 4pm. No JV players should attend.

Springfield Calvary Bus and Game Times

The Varsity Hawks will be playing Springfield Calvary on 4/13/09 @ 4:30pm in Springfield.

Bus time will be @ 2:30pm. All players should report to the school by 2:15pm.

In case of inclement weather the team will have a pitchers catchers practice along with hitting practice for all other players from 2:30 to 4:00pm.

Great effort against Pana guys...take the good with the bad...a great season awaits you.

Pana GAME @ Meridian!!!!!!!!

The game at Pana has been moved to Meridian...we will play @ 2pm Varsity and @ 4pm JV...Varsity players need to be here @ 12:45. JV need to be here @ 3pm.

Pana to make call @ 10am...

The Pana A.D. just called and said they are going out to their diamond at 10am to tell us if we can play there. If we play in Pana it is going to be in the afternoon...bus time will be put on the blog.

I have opened up the diamond with the 4-wheeler and I am going to offer our diamond at 2pm and 4pm for a Varsity/JV double header.

Sleep...rest...keep checking the blog...I'll keep working on our diamond.

Pana contacted me yesterday and said they may need more time to work on their field...bus and game time probably will be pushed back. We may even play @ Meridian later in the afternoon.

Meridian plays Eisenhower tonight!!!!!

A game has been scheduled for Meridian against Decatur Eisenhower for 7pm. All players should be there by 5:45pm

Cerro Gordo RAINED OUT!!!!!!!!

The game with Cerro Gordo has been canceled due to bad weather. We will try and reschedule at at later date.

Morrisonville game moved to their site!!!!!!!!

Game with Morrisonville has been moved to their site. Varsity game will be played @ 4:30pm with a JV game to follow.

Hendrian to SEMO!!!!

Andrew Hendrian, Sr. centerfielder for the Meridian Hawks, will be attending Southeast Missouri State to continue his education and baseball in the Fall. We wish him the best of luck in all his future endeavors. Go Andrew...Gooooo Hawks!!!!!

Baseball Tryouts March 2nd!!!!

Tryouts for Meridian varsity baseball will begin March 2nd after school. Please pick up a schedule from Coach Hale before then to see times and set up.
Also, make sure you have an up-to-date physical, insurance waiver, and check to see if you owe a $40.00 participation fee. You will need all items to try out. See Coach Reedy if you need any forms...please turn participation money in to Coach Reedy.
